Jesus and the Centurion

This is the episode in Matthew 8:5-10 and Luke 7:2-10. The centurion asks help for his servant, who is sick and near death. In the image, the centurion's genuflection corresponds to his words, "I am not worthy that you should come under my roof," a phrase repeated before communion in the Christian liturgy. Jesus commends the man's faith, and the servant is cured.
